VIDEO: Adam Clayton on RTE 1 Late Late Show

The 54-year-old will be talking to Ryan Tubridy about life, U2 and the Walk in My Shoes campaign which aims to stamp out the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Adam swerves into U2 related details about the forthcoming U2 album:

We’ve been working to get it finished this summer, and hopefully have something out by the end of the year. That’s our plan. I think it’s our 13th record. We want to make the songs really count, and they’re getting better all the time.

Adam also comments on booze and missing the 1993 ZooTv Sydney concert.

It´s great that the guests of this show found the courage to talk about issues that often tend to get stigmatized. Their honest words about their personal experiences are very moving. Depression is a disease that can occur at any time. It´s admirable that Adam succeeded to overcome the dark periods of his life and I´m glad that he found some relief by making music. I hope the new U2 CD will be released soon.

Hearing Adam discuss his inner demons with such openness and honesty is truly humbling. Such a worthy cause.

Bravo Adam! I’m glad to see him out on his own talking, and not just part of the rhythm section.
