U2 Is A Rock Band, Right?

Am I speaking Swahili?  Most question whether I can speak English, but have I not been clear.  There is no way….underline NO WAY that U2 is going to do an entire acoustic concert.  Bono can run his usual wishy, washy, vague “Different show each night” mumbo jumbo mouth all he wants. IT AIN’T HAPPENING.  Not on my watch!  Not in my house, the Boston Garden.  Oh, I know it’s official name is the TD Garden, but no one in Boston calls it TD.  If you live in Boston, it’s the GAAAAAAARHHHHHDEN!

I don’t care what Bono says, do you think for a minute Larry, Edge & Adam would ever sign off on an entire acoustic show……ABSOLUTELY NOT!  Fact, NLOTH put Larry to sleep and he’s ready to kick the living snot out of his drum kit on stage.  You think he’s leaving his home in Dublin to play the triangle and tambourine in front of 20,000 screaming fans that haven’t seen U2 in half a decade, hell no.  What about Adam?  If you don’t think Volcano is going to be played live, you’re delusional.  Adam’s bass rocks on Volcano and it will be heard.

I know some fans have taken a right onto Speculation Way which intersects with Innuendo Avenue trying to figure out how U2 is going to change it up, but if U2 is looking for a crash more horrific than Bono’s bike ride than play an entire acoustic concert.  I can’t speak for other cities, but do that in Boston, good luck getting out.  A Boston crowd will give U2 uno, dos, tres acoustic songs, but catorce??? No way! I don’t want to spend Friday night on my knees being serenaded by Bono for two plus hours…I’m going GA, I want to be body surfing across a sea of people to a rocked out version of California.

If U2 is true to their word and this CD was a reflective look back at their punk rock ways then let’s punk this bad boy out.  It wasn’t a true Ramones or Clash concert unless someone left in a body bag and there were 200 arrests for disorderly conduct.  😉
