He’s been uncharacteristically quiet in recent months, but Bono finally gave in on Thursday night and spoke a bit about U2’s upcoming album. It happened the opening of his niece’s art exhibit in Dublin when he chatted with the Irish Independent.
Bono said the band began the album by going back and listening to punk rock, The Ramones, Talking Heads and other artists and kinds of music that first made U2 want to form a band. As for what the new album sounds like, he said:
