U2 is Together Again

First, I’m going to ask if you saw the photo of U2 watching the Monaco vs. Arsenal soccer game on St. Patrick’s Day. Second, I’m going to ask why the Daily Mail neglected to show Adam there, since he was totally there. Third, I’m going to ask:

When you watch the Live in Chicago DVD from the Vertigo tour, what’s your favorite part? I’ll give you three choices:

While I love all three moments, #3 is my choice. First, because Yahweh is an amazing prayer song and should go down as one of the most spiritual songs in U2 history (you heard it here – it should be right up there with 40). Second, because there’s just something about seeing all four guys lined up together, being U2, that makes me smile. When they’re just being U2 – not larger-than-life Bono, musical genius Edge, handsomely intense Larry and elegant Adam – they’re just being four guys who have played music together since they were teenagers.

Yes, they’ve been all over the world more times than most of us will ever hope to and they have buckets of money – lots and lots of money. But they’re still that band from the north side of Dublin, and their real fans know that. Moments like that Yahweh arrangement show that, and moments like the St. Patrick’s Day soccer game show that. Only two more months until we get to see a lot more moments like that – and hopefully, they will be sure to include a moment like it in every show.
