Setlist:
Show Me The Way, Bye Bye Baby, Beach Boys medley. Encore(s): Bye Bye Baby.
Remarks:
Before the band was known as U2, they were known to have many band names, including “The Larry Mullen Band”, “Feedback” and “The Hype”. At the very first known appearance of who we know as U2 today, the band was encouraged by a teacher to participate in a talent contest at Dublin’s Mount Temple in their cafeteria and appeared under the name “Feedback”. The exact date was not known of this performance, but it was sometime in the Autumn of 1976. The band did not win in this contest but they played a brief set composed of cover songs including Peter Frampton’s “Show Me The Way”. The students loved the performance so much that they asked for an encore, so Feedback played the Bay City Rollers’ “Bye Bye Baby” twice.
